How long has it been? Months? Years? Decades? Didn't matter, as time had passed, that haunting feeling has come and gone, only to come back again. There was no running from it for Ília, but isolation is where she found... Peace? More like an illusion of death, something she could only long but never truly reach. Roosted in a circle of large branches that she broke from nearby trees with care, an improvised nest, head rested under her left wing, hiding the crystalline tears under closed eyes. Has she cried to her sleep? Maybe.

Such a majestic bird she was, and with a potential to predate on many creatures, yet so fragile... So vulnerable. What does a phoenix woven of sun dreams? What goes through their bird brain? What might creep on her, and will they succeed?

Irene wasn't affiliated with the school but given how long he'd lived on the island, and even the fact that he had adopted a child who of course goes there currently, word eventually reached him of another phoenix who had arrived. And was having some difficulties.

So Irene decided to keep an eye out for her as he flew around. Shara was busy and Asku was off keeping an eye on her anyway, so he had some time available.

Eventually he spotted the bright yellow of her feathers tucked away on a tree. Why had she come all the way out there? No matter, he'd at least stop and say hello and maybe mention he was around if she needed anything. Simple and as unobtrusive as he could be in the form of a large fiery orange colored bird.

He swooped down to land in an adjacent tree, wary of intruding upon her makeshift nest. "Excuse me, you wouldnt happen to be Ília would you?" He chirped out with a fair amount of honest cheeriness.

In her slumber, she stirred a little, letting out a sad and lonely whistle, as Irene has approached. How heavy of a sleeper she was? Well, Ília slept just as much as a human being, and a nap could happen every now and then but never deep enough. Her head brushed the feathers under her wings a few times, a way for the solar phoenix to wipe away the tears that lingered from earlier.

Wings stretched up and then aside, her neck craned a little at what was clearly a yawn, feathers ruffled and then rested back down. Yes, Ília's nap has been interrupted, but she was nowhere cranky or anything, lazy sky blue eyes encountering Irene as she would then answer "Yes, Ília Seírin is my name." This was no angel, that much was clear, but had the same kind of peaceful presence about.

Irene inclined his head, dipping his beak in the equivalent of a bow as he flicked and tucked his wings in to perch there. "Ireneus Paulos. I learned from a friend that another phoenix had come here and might enjoy seeing another of similar kind."

He explained himself calmly, though his voice sounded like it would have been said with a smile if a beak could have allowed that. No matter, birds were used to such things. She seemed serene, but he was fairly certain she wasnt happy. Not really.

Her tone got chirpier both figuratively and literally, in response to Irene: "Oh, that is correct! I have come to Manta Carlos in pursuit for someone or something to give me a sense of belonging!" However soon after it dipped back to how she had been feeling before: "Apologies if I didn't seem so excited, but I was just reminded how I... I have no world for myself.", Ília opened herself up to him.

"So I fled here to try and purge that feeling. Eventually I will get better, this happens every now and then.", but unlike those many times, who reminded her of how empty her life is, who gave a metaphorical wake-up slap, was someone unaffected by her aura, who was cold in their delivery. It never hurt her to, but for once in a long time, she was able to tell someone a simple phrase: "I need help."

Irene listened to her intently, cocking his head to the side as she explained. Though ultimately it seemed to boil down to two things: she needed help and she seemed to be lacking either a purpose, companions or both.

"Good thing I'm a professional helper. Usually from more of an emergency medical standpoint, but I'll see what I can do." Irene paused to preen the feathers along his left wing where a branch had ruffled them and then turned back to her.

"I suppose the first thing I should ask is what do you mean you have no world? Is that a literal thing or are we being metaphorical? Not sure I can give you the world." He tried a joke, to see if she responded well to that.

A professional, a medical one at that... That reminded Ília of how she came to be, or rather by whom and the cause itself. Irene could be very well someone related by blood to her and neither would know, but perhaps it is for best that both are oblivious to that. A sigh of content followed his joke, an a response that was perhaps crafted through decades, but in truth was how she always excused herself:

"I would rather say philosophical. Could Ireneus become my world, the one to return to after the sun has decided to rest, the stars paints the sky?", her world a long time ago... Her father, the pawn shop, were long left behind, and now it was time to question if someone else could be it.

Irene took in a deep breath. He wasnt as concerned as he might normally be- probably related to that aura warning tag the other bird was clearly wearing. But he was aware of cases where someone in crisis latched on to anyone they see as a rescuer or helper in some way.

"I mean no offense, and I certainly dont want you to be lonely or heartbroken, but we just met. I dont know you and you dont know me. How about we start with being friendly acquaintances?" He resisted the urge to back off a little from her. They were already separated slightly with them being in adjacent trees.

"Do you feel like maybe you could stretch your wings for a bit? Always seems to help cheer me up." He definitely was thinking it was far too fast for her to accelerate how she saw him from a stranger to 'her world' in less than a couple minutes.

A small giggle followed his response, her tone once again chirpier: "Oh, no offense taken. In the past my world was my father and our pawn shop, but decades passed since I have spread wings from Athens, and I had left my world behind to time itself.", her head tilted a little to the side as she addressed Ireneus' concern. There was no way she would suddenly become too attached, right? After all, she has been detached from everything for God-Knows-How-Long...

"I guess as much, the nap felt far longer than my usual self, however I'm not stiff at all.", with that Ília would get up and prepare to spread wings with him, awaiting him to lead. A little of his reasoning was understandable for her: in her life disguised among humans, she had seen people desire for freedom in ways that only a bird could understand, but was there something else?

"Athens you say?" That had grabbed his attention for sure. And his head again cocked to the side to turn his eye towards her. "That's the earliest place I remember living too. Though that was a long, long time ago."

But Irene knew from experience it would be better to fly for a bit than remain stationary. It was such a nice summer day and the wonderful thermal air currents were just waiting for them up there.

"Come, the sunlight will do us both good," he instructed with a chirrup and then took flight. His bird form was smaller than hers, and he wasnt built for extreme speed like he was. He was more designed for soaring. It was almost effortless how he flew. Maybe it was just his many many years of experience with the form.
