The library felt like an itch. An itch that was deep under the skin and felt like it grated on her very bones. Like no matter how hard she scratched she could never relieve it. Hector helped her down, and for that brief moment she hugged him close. Once on her feet, she started towards the library. Their way in was aisle of bookshelves that went up and up and up in way that hurt the mind to even try and comprehend.

The moment Dela stepped off of sand and onto the smooth stone flooring of the library the darkness that clouded her vision melted away. Her friends could see the difference as her once milky eyes were now their original brown color. Delaney turned to face her friends. Friends she could now see. If she weren't so nervous she might have cried like the twins had at the start.

"We will be," Dela said, answering Hector's question. "It's in there. I can tell." She glanced over her shoulder and had another feeling, one she couldn't bring herself to voice. "Let's go," she said instead. There was an end to this aisle of books, one they could just barely be made out.

Avram, in an uncharacteristic fit of bravery leapt off of the beast that tried to buck them, turning to catch Avigail as she fell. She clung to him hard for a moment, then shoved him away as he laughed at her embarrassment at needing help. "Dweeb," she spit in annoyance at him - but playful, sibling annoyance that felt all the more natural and comfortable between them.

"So this is it, huh?" she said, glancing around as she followed Dela onto the stone floor. She wasn't the first one of the two to notice their leader's eyesight returning, but Avram did as he spoke up. "Hey Dela. It's good to see you again."

Giving her friend a brief congratulatory hug at her returned eyesight, Avigail took the lead alongside her. There was light, but it was dim and the shadows that that dim lighting cast did little to make Avi feel better about the bizarre situation they were in.

"I wish we had like, some flashlights or something." Even as the words came out of her mouth though, a hooded lantern, already filled with oil and lit, appeared in her hand. She paused, astonished by it for a moment and stopping to look at the others bewilderedly.

Hector's tail swayed as he glanced around their new surroundings before double taking Delaney. She could see again. He shifted nervously wondering how she'd react now that she could get a proper look at him. "Now you can bask in my full glorious appearance," he joked, giving her a nudge.

The library was actually quite dark. Hector was listening for anything that was heading their way. When Avram manifested a lantern in his hand, he opted to try for the same. "I guess it's kinda late for this but uh... what's the plan when we find this thing? Like do we just go prison rules or what? Like no offense, but we don't seem like a group of fighters?"

"Oh. You can see us now?!" Lycia exclaimed and then beamed at her friend as she was able to take in the appearances of the others. Fortunately she had just enough common sense to not get in the way of Dela seeing the Av siblings and Hector so she focused on getting light of her own.

And some shoes, as it turned out. The stones felt cold on her previously bare feet.

Lycia started looking around the shelves and pulled out a small glass jar filled with glowing beetles. Which suspiciously seemed to put out basically the same amount of light as the lanterns the others had summoned. Except not so focused, and naturally more 'fun and exciting' for Lycia.

"What is in all of the books? I think this is more books than the whole kingdom- if we are going to fight we should get swords and the armors too. Maybe there is magic that can fight books?"

Delaney laughed and hugged both twins, before turning to fully take in her boyfriend's apperance for the first time. Ever since they started dating, and Hector let her explore his face with her hands, she had a vague imagining of what he looked like. "And glorious it is," she said in reply to him, then gave him a tight hug as well. Dragon, human, it didn't matter because she loved him for who he was.

After Hector's hug she gave a quick one to Lycia as well. The others created their lights, and between the three of them Delaney could see just fine and didn't summon anything. She suspected it was possible because they were still technically in Lycia's dream.

What was the plan. Delaney wondered that herself as she lead the others forward. "I don't think we can fight it." She said, perhaps a little loud as this place seemed to absorb all sound. "Not the traditional way. It's . . . it could just recover from that." She ran her fingers down the spines of several books. "It's power. . . it's connected to this place."

It was Lycia's comment about fighting books that gave Delaney an idea. "This thing is all about knowledge, yeah? If we damage the books, wouldn't that damage it as well? Then . . then we can use an elder sign to further hurt it!"

The twins hugged Dela back together, still not entirely willing to unclasp their hands from one another. As if they knew that this situation was temporary and they wanted to make it last as long as they possibly could.

Avram and Avigail gave each other a look as the group moved forward, shrugging together. The explanation made about as much sense as anything else really, so it was more a matter of how to go about it. Avigail spoke up first.

"We could burn them. I mean, we have lanterns right? And the entrance is right behind us so we can just run if the fire gets out of control."

"Yeah but we don't know that that will work. It could be a situation that this thing is... trapped here because of the books. Or maybe that won't hurt it, but just piss it off," Avram offered, seemingly unaware or unconcerned with his casual, mild cursing.

Avi interjected though, "But Dela knows the most about this one. We should trust her judgement on it."

"True enough. Just tell us what to do and we'll do it."

"You guys get your elder signs ready, I'll just break shit and get it to focus on me. I'm really sturdy so..." Hector volunteered. It seemed like the simplest, but most efficient plan as far as he was concerned. He looked to the others to hear their thoughts on his contribution.

"Or... yeah I'll just do whatever you think is the best thing to do," he said to Dela. This was her mission after all, she knew this thing the best. "Whatever we decide, I think we got this."

"What is an elder sign? I do not know what this is," Lycia questioned loudly, and blinked as her voice carried a bit further than expected. Exchoing slightly until the sheer volume of books muffled the sound.

Lycia smiled and stepped over to examine the spines of the nearest books. It didn't make any sense. Was that shapes and weird squiggles? She shivered. This place felt wrong. "Delaney. I do not like it here. I feel like I am being looked at from the books." Her previous smile disappeared and she withdrew back away from the shelves.

Burn the books. . . the thought of it filled her with dread and yet it was because of that feeling she knew they were onto something with that. The idea that this thing was trapped here because of the books didn't incite any feeling good or bad. But what if. . . No. Avigail was right. Delaney knew the most about this thing. The two of them were connected and she was going to make it regret that decision.

"Pissed off could be good." She added, "Could cause it to make mistakes. These elder things like to plan and plot yeah? Pissed could make it impulsive." She looked towards Lycia to address he question, "It's a symbol that can protect someone from Elder Beings. Here." Delaney pulled out a book and tore out the first page which had a blank side. On that side she drew the symbol with a marker she materialized.

She could see this place was beginning to get to Lycia. "Take this one. It may not stop it completely, but it can give it pause for a moment." Delaney knew they were getting close to the center. "Here's the plan," she said, as the end of the aisle was in sight. "We start wrecking and burning the place up. We'll make it improvise and. . . And I'll do something." Her gut told her she was the only one who could finish it off. But how?

"Wreck shit and improvise," Avigail said, a grin slowly forming on one side of her mouth as she stepped forward. She formed her own elder sign on a necklace that appeared around her neck, and she turned to Avram to show him so he could follow suit. He grimaced a bit, mumbling something about not being sure if haphazardly making things in this place was a good idea, but he still made a copy of Avigail's necklace around his own neck. Regardless, he nodded along with his sister and smiled at the rest of the group.

"Improvising is kind of what we do best in these situations, right?"

Avigail made the first move, grabbing a book off of the shelf and tearing out a handful of pages. It was a small bit of destruction, and she didn't even bother to try and read what was on the pages, but it was a good place to start.
