"Of course I'll succeed," he'd say confidently, holding his hands up and letting the orb float between them. "I'll have it mastered in no time, you'll see," he'd let the electricity stretch as he spread his hands a bit, it'd crackle and pop, "maybe I'll have all the elements soon."

He'd stretch it a bit further and it'd suddenly pop loudly and essentially burst into spark and static. The young dragon would cough and putter, wiping sparks from his eyes and quietly cursing himself for not staying focused.

Once his face was cleared he'd focus again and form another orb of electricity. "Maybe I can do some target practice," he'd make the orb float around his hands a little already thinking about how he could use the ability in combat.

    "Perhaps."
Huilu said with a small mysterious smile on her face, as she watched Eein toy with the ball of electricity. She knew what was coming, but she wanted Eein to learn all the lessons he could from this experience. And when he lost control of the element Huilu merely kept smiling mysteriously, and gently blew some cold air on Eein's face to help clear his eyes.
"Perhaps you'll gain humility with the elements. Confidence is a good trait, Eein, but paired with humility they became the greatest virtue."

Huilu hummed a bit in thought as Eein mentioned target practice. It had been a while since she had fought, Huilu tried to spar at least once a month and this month she had not. Huilu took some distance to Eein and turned to him, and took a wider stance.
"If you'll accept it I'll happily be your target. I need some practice as well, you see. And I would love to see how you shall use this ability in combat."

"Dragons aren't known for their humility," he'd counter, not arguing, he was merely pointing it out. "I have to stay confident.....have to keep pushing, I just gotta...," he wanted to make his parent proud, and becoming powerful, making a name for himself in the community was the best way to do that.

Raising his hands, he'd conjure a new ball of electricity, this time giving it more respect and focus. "I'll get this, I will.

He'd raise an eyebrow at her offer, he liked sparring but throwing bolts of electricity sounded a bit dangerous. "You sure you're ok with that?" he didn't want to hurt her, she was a dragon and could likely take it but it still worried him.

Huilu looked at Eein with sympathetic eyes, she could understand his feelings. She had been in a similar position in her youth, pressured and pressuring herself to always be better, always keep pushing.
"Striving the the ideal image of a dragon is a road to tread carefully. But striving to be you, not seeing your species, is a road with the best results."
Huilu said gently and smiled a little.
"Humility isn't a dragon-like trait, I know. But it is something dragons need."

As an answer to Eein's question Huilu created five circular targets out of ice in the air and floated them in front of Eein.
"Let's begin with this. Try and hit these targets with your spheres of electricity."

He'd listen as she spoke, how she pointed out how dragons needed humility, it made sense he supposed. Though that'd be a lesson he'd need to learn over time, he'd look down at the ball of lightning, rolling it in his hands.

Looking up, he'd look over at the circular targets she'd formed, taking a step back he'd ready his hands. Focusing he'd let out a bold of electricity, it'd mess them all, striking the ground, it wasn't the same as his freezing fire, didn't fire like it.

Eein quietly cursed and fired again, it'd miss again, though not quite as bad. "It's...finicky," he'd say with a grunt.

Huilu didn't take a step back when Eein fired, and she watched with analyzing eyes how the bolt struck the ground, out of Eein's control. He fired again, it was better, but Huilu's targets were still untouched. Huilu hummed in thought.
"Perhaps you should try firing an individual bolt, make these targets the lightning rod and direct the lightning between your hand and the target."
Huilu wasn't an expert, this was all just her opinion, and if Eein wanted to try it her way or his own way was up to him.

He'd hear her advice and focus on one of the targets, his fingers crackling with electricity, as if the element was begging to be released. Finally he'd do just that, taking Huilu's advice he'd release a single smaller bolt this time. The electricity struck the target, make it crackle and pop and finally crack as the powers went through it.

Eein would grin a bit at his success, he was enjoying this, growing confident in the power he'd gain. "There we go," he'd look at his hand, it still crackled with electricity though it seemed slightly less wild now, more calm. "Yes...my element now," he'd snap his fingers causing a decent spark of the electricity.

The young dragon turned to his guardian, "I'm getting the hang our it," he'd say with his usual cocky smirk. "Bit more practice and I'll be summoning lightning as easy as my ice flame," he'd fire another bolt at the targets, only clipping the one that he intended to hit, which got an annoyed grunt out of him.

The target Eein struck with his lightning didn't shatter, but it got few cracks and melted from the spot where the lightning had hit. Huilu's ice was more tough than to be destroyed by a single bolt of lightning. But she did smile and clap a bit when Eein succeeded, and the confidence he showed made Huilu both proud and amused. Eein was confident and prideful, like dragons tended to be. Even Huilu felt a slight twinge of annoyance at the fact that her ice had been damaged by mere electricity. But she didn't let it show, and instead was just happy for Eein.

When Eein turned to her Huilu ceased her clapping, and lowered the target he had hit.
"I suppose we will see that after a bit more practice. Here, try and hit the other one."
And Eein did, although his overconfidence might've thrown off his aim and he merely clipped the next target. Huilu laughed slightly, she couldn't help it, and spun the target Eein had hit.
"Repetition is the key. Do not let the image of success out of your head, or the sensation of hitting the target off your hand. Again."

Raising his hand he'd fire again, this bolt would strike the target, but it didn't do as much damage. He'd look down at the electricity crackling through his hand, he hadn't yet been able to conjure a bolt as powerful as lightning, which frustrated him.

"It's power is harder to guage," perhaps because he wasn't born with this element, or perhaps because it was much more wilder element. "What was it like? Learning to control your ice when you were younger?"

He'd listen to her, his hands bust trying to focus more power into the electricity he held. Despite his overconfidence he was eager to learn from her,he wanted to know every trick to this. Looking down at the electricity he'd ficus especially hard and it'd start to glow and crackle with extra power.
