    One.

Destin perched on one of the many benches around the school campus, sitting on the back rather than the seat. He wasn't scared of it tipping over on him - everything in Manta Carlos was built to withstand the superhuman. Even if he tried he couldn't tip it just by sitting on it wrong. He raised one arm, top hat held upside down in his fingertips.

    Two.

Destin flipped the hat into the air, letting it spiral over his head to catch it in the opposite hand behind him. Another flick of the wrist to send it up and over, catching it directly in front of him.

    Three.

The hat was flung high into the air, a resounding 'boom' exploded from the hat at the same time that black glitter spilled like a geyser from the inside. Destin grimaced as the hat landed square on his head, still drizzling the sparkling black material.

"That." Destin coughed, wiping the glitter off of his face. He spoke to the hat as if it were a close friend, though the hat clearly wasn't going to respond. "That was not what I intended to happen. You know that right? How do you expect me to clean up all this?" A white corner of fabric drooped loosely over his bangs from beneath the hat, seemingly in response to his griping to those who didn't understand how the hat worked. Destin sighed, tugging the cloth loose and scrubbing his face clean of glitter.

"Get out of my way, asshole."

Clamoring through crowds of people with her head held high, Clementine could be seen marching her way through school grounds without a care in the world. One wasn't actually able to tell from her vulgar language and violent demeanor, but she was actually in a surprisingly good mood that day. Why shouldn't she do some pushing and shoving in response? It always made her feel better, as pathetic as that fact was.

As she turned corners her steps began to slow, her direction becoming less sure. Now she was facing her daily dilemma: how to pass time before she absolutely had to go home? Leaving the school was the worst part of her day, and she always avoided it as much as possible. So far she was alright, but now she was fast losing ideas, and needed some form of entertainment. A scowl plastered itself on her face as she passed by a boy on a bench, one who didn't particularly catch her eye at the time.

    BOOM.

With a yelp from Clementine, she twirled about face and whipped her head in the direction of what had just occurred - an exceedingly loud noise. Alright, perhaps it wasn't that loud, but being so close had caused it to frighten her. Now fear was quickly turning to boiling anger as she searched for the source. Then she looked up. Was that... glitter? Stepping out of the way so she wouldn't get rained on, she realized that was indeed glitter now fluttering down. It seemed to have come from the boy in front of her, whose hat was now oozing the sane substance.

"Oi! What do you think youre doing, asshat?"

Destin raised an eyebrow at the girl who.. seemed to be mad at him? He could never tell with people on this island. She looked human enough so he'd assume mad.

"I don't think i'm doing anything. I know what I'm doing. If you don't like glitter go find a party clown. And while you're at it, pick up a dictionary."

Destin gestured to the hat on his head using his free hand.

"I know it looks old, but you shouldn't be swearing unnecessarily. It's a sign of weak verbal skills."

He continued on with the cloth, scrubbing the glitter to keep himself from grinning. This one must be new. the others got used to his antics quickly - cheap magic tricks were nothing when you could light your whole body on fire or create portals to another dimension.

Clementine couldn't help but roll her eyes at this. She very often received comments of this nature about her language, it was nothing new to her. People seemed to be under a constant impression that if someone swore, they didn't know how to use any other form of speech. It annoyed her. Greatly. As such, she merely tossed her hair behind her shoulders and shot him a rather irritated, yet slightly superior glare.

"You seem to be under the most sorrowful impression that my dexterity of language is inadequate. I would like to benignly propose that you eradicate yourself from the present space, or in less complaisent terms, fuck off."

Satisfied with her little self absorbed speech, she then shrugged and eyed his hat rather suspisciously. What was that thing? And did it do anything more than spout glitter and make annoyingly loud noises at passersby? One of the strangest parts of coming to this island was adjusting to so many of her fellow students possessing some form of ability. One could never tell what each person could do, and this was, although she'd never admit it, disconcerting and rather intimidating.

"If you know what you're doing, then does the dumb hat really do anything aside from spout glitter for shits and giggles?"

Destin huffed, mood soured in just the mere moments it had taken her to open her mouth. Clearly, this one couldn't take a joke. It made him more than slightly irritated but as always, the show must go on.

"I never said the hat did anything. It was a joke, sweetheart, but it clearly went over your head."

Destin grinned down at her, making it clear that his last comment was directed at her height. He tilted his head forward to upend the hat into his lap, tugging the hem of his glitter-soaked shirt to carefully peel it off without covering himself in glitter a second time. Sparkles still clung to his skin, making him glisten like fairy dust. His grin didn't falter, keeping his eyes locked onto Clementine's except for that brief moment when the shirt interrupted.

Bitter to her core, Clementine locked eye contact with him and didn't budge an inch. Exactly who did he think he was, with his smug smile and array of insults? It pissed her off to no end, causing her to chew her lip violently as a sort of subconscious venting. The gaze didn't break in the slightest as the other party began gradually peeling off his outer garments, evem though she felt her guts wrench at the sight. Exactly what did he think he was doing? Sure, it could be because of the glitter, but did he have to put on a show now of all times?

"I certainly hope you don't plan on forcing the whole school to look at that mess."

She then pointedly traveled her gaze up and down her upper body, pointedly wrinkling her nose as she did so. It wasn't it as if she was blind - he was truthfully very good looking. However, she was not about to give anyone the satisfaction of knowing her thoughts on that matter. She was Clementine; she would much rather throw insults and watch how they rebound.

Destin reached out, gently brushing his thumb over Clementine's lower lip to smooth it out. His eyes never left hers, deep pools that seemed to go on forever, drawing in her focus. She was pissed, he could tell.

But he was loving every second of it.

He didn't fail to notice her wandering eyes, either.

"You shouldn't be so harsh on your skin. It's going to crack."

Destin's other hand reached up, smoothing out her hair - while simultaneously contaminating her with the endless amounts of glitter. If she would let him, he would draw her closer. He couldn't deny that he wanted to taste those soft lips, but he was more than aware that she was more likely to slap him. A price he'd gladly pay.

As Destin stretched out his hand and caressed Clementine's lips and hair her anger absolutely overflowed. She would tolerate insults, humiliation, and simmer down over it later, but she would absolutely not tolerate being touched without her permission. For a brief moment she simply let it happen, let him think he had her - and then -

    Snap.

Clem had opened her mouth and clamped it down as hard as she could on the thumb against her mouth, sincerely hoping it was going to draw blood. Quickly ducking under the hand on her head, she took a step back and shot him an absolutely death glare, before spitting on her hand and scrubbing it against her lip like it was covered in something nasty.

"Nice try, pretty boy, but my skin's definitely cracking if you put your gross ass hands all over it."

Destin recoiled at the pain stemming from a source he hadn't expected, staring at his outstretched hand.

"Well that certainly wasn't what I expected. Not much of a lady, are you?" Destin dramatically sighed and lay down across the seat of the bench. He let the hat rest upon his stomach, one hand to his forehead and the other dangling off the side. Blue smoke began dripping out of the hat, coiling over his body and the ground.

"Woe is me, scorned and rejected by even the least impressive of prey. Whatever shall I do now?"

Destin watched the girl through the corner of his eye, hidden by the placement of his hand. If she left, there was no need to follow. What concerned him was if the girl decided she liked the taste of his skin. Not everything that looked human was human after all.

    Thrill.

For a brief moment, a brief, terrible moment, a flash of white hot thrill shot through Clementine's body. Not just any thrill: the thrill of having caused someone else physical pain. It was something she hadn't felt in ages, and for a moment she merely sat there cherishing in, longing to lash out physically and bring down more pain. However, fear held her back. Fear of being found out was much too great as of now, so she held herself back by the skin of her teeth.

After watching the boy lay back, she couldn't help but make a scoffing noise at his show of despair. He was certainly a riot, this one, wasn't he?

"Oh, what a pity, a shame, a real shocker."

The words absolutely dripped with sarcasm, and as she said them, she decided she'd had enough. She wasn't sure what had caused her to get wrapped up with this disgustingly flirtatious joker, but by now she was regretting every second of it. She had better things to do anyway, more entertaining things to distract her, and schoolwork to catch up on.

And with that, she turned on her heel and marched away in the opposite direction, not looking back once.
