Ganymede knew he was in a rough spot. He had angered a powerful demon lord, or maybe the avatar of a demon lord. He should have known better than to use her name in public. Alma and the others had been nice to him, defending him and all that, but he didn't believe that he was actually off the hook. He may not have even deserved to be off the hook.

Angering a demon lord was dangerous business - he already had one dead master thanks to an angry demon. He wanted a chance to enjoy his newfound freedom, so he needed to make this right somehow.

Caissa, as they called her, was a tutor at the school. He was able to learn this, and to track down when and where she held office hours. That was when he would approach her - he was told that people rarely attended office hours when there wasn't a test coming up.

He walked through her door holding a cupcake in a small plastic container. When their eyes met he would stare at her for a moment, fearful, before bowing and holding it out for her.

    "P-please accept this humble offering."

The cupcake would still seem warm, thanks to the magic he had used on it. This wasn't all Ganymede intended to offer her, but it was a good start, he hoped.

Caissa didn't hate being a tutor, but she didn't love it either. Like most things, it was a thing she did because it was something to do. And in this case at least, an easy source of cash. Sit in a room for a couple of hours and wait for students to come ask her questions about their homework or papers? Hell yes.

But when her door opened this time, she saw a student she had wholly not expected to. Ganymede. The little cat boy who had helped with her summoning that one time and the one who had outed her secret to a whole room full of people.

The one she'd blown up on.

She stared at the offered cupcake for a few seconds and leaned forward onto her desk with a sigh. "If you're here to give me an apology, kid, save it. I shouldn't have blown up on you like I did."

She paused and reflected for just a moment, watching the warming magic spiral around the pastry. This kid was actually pretty good at magic. "I'll take the cupcake though. Shut the door if you're gonna stay."

Ganymede seemed confused by Caissa's reaction. All this time, he thought that he and Paimon - Caissa, rather - were the only ones who really understood the magnitude of his mistake. But even Caissa was telling him not to apologize, now.

He hesitated. Then, he went to shut the door, and sat down across from her. He still wanted to apologize, despite being explicitly told not to. So he did the next best thing: explaining himself.

"I didn't realize it was a secret, since your name is in books normies can find. But it should have been obvious to me that your true name is like that. My master used to say he'd turn me into homunculus parts if I ever learned his."

He avoided eye contact, staring at a spot on the table. He was still ashamed of himself.

Caissa let out a groan at that and rubbed her temple. "Don't make me feel worse than I already do, kid. Goddamn you NEK0 are depressing."

Holding out her hand, she put up a finger to tell Gany to wait and listen for a moment. There was no point in lying to him at this point. "Okay first of all. I'm not Paimon. I'm his shitty kid, and because he's a sneaky duplicitous bastard he set it up so I'll get summoned in his stead more often than not."

"Second. You couldn't have possibly known that. That's why I'm sorry I blew up at you like I did. Yes, you might have royally fucked me, but you didn't mean to. It's not like I can do anything about it anyway."

What could she even do? The kid was basically a slave. Caissa could always make him do stuff for her. But... eh, maybe. She'd table that option for now.

"And third. I don't really have a third point, but the best sets come in there's. So here we are."

Ganymede almost protested when she remarked that his kind was 'depressing,' but he respected her signal to wait a moment. He just silently took in the information Caissa presented. She was actually a daughter of Paimon. Her father was using her as his proxy in summonings, which made her mad. Paimon must not have raised her for this, the way he was raised for his servitude.

But she didn't blame him for revealing her father's name.

He managed to look amused when Caissa brought up item 3. Then, he decided that he would change her mind about his kind being depressing. "Here's a third thing then, to complete the set: what do you want your cupcake to taste like?"

Right now it was just vanilla, with plain icing whipped on top.

"Hm... now that is a question. Do I go with a flavour I already enjoy, or something exotic I haven't gotten to eat before?" She could tell, looking at the way his magic flowed, he could basically do anything. She snickered at the stray thought she had but suppressed it. This was a little kid. She wasn't gonna ask that.

"How about... Durian. Never had it. Wanna know what it tastes like. And I won't have to deal with the smell this way."

Once it was done she took a bite and waited several long seconds to register the taste. "Creamy. Sweet. Savoury." She mused that she might as well have gone with her first thought as she took a second bite. "I like it. You're gonna make a hell of a house husband one day, kid."

"So, is that all? Did you actually come in here for tutoring? Fuck me this is good."
