It was now Saturday evening, and thankfully it had been a slow day. They had just had three call outs, and none of them were even really fire related. There had been a bad three vehicle smash-up, where they had been called out to extract victims from their vehicles and prevent any accidental damage from leaking fuel tanks. The surprisingly common, child shifter who had transformed on a dare, got scared, and could not transform back and was stuck (this time) in a sewage drain. And lastly, and possibly the most amusing, the call out to a possible gas leak which turned out to be an overripe durian fruit.

"Hey, Liun," Ivana said as she came up from downstairs carrying a bunch of fire extinguishers that needed to be checked for pressure. "Do we want to order something for dinner tonight? Cause I really don't feel like cooking," she said, not at all in the mood for whatever was hiding in the kitchen cupboards or fridge. And knowing they also probably needed to do a major shop to restock the pantry soon.

Liun both liked and disliked quiet days at work. Obviously, he liked them as it generally meant there were no issues that required him to do his job. Good because it meant people weren't in danger or anything. But on the flip side, quite simply put, Liun got bored on such days. But on that day, he had brought a cooking advice book that he had at home. Decided that he would read it during the quiet time at work.

His nose twitched a bit as Ivana came downstairs. Heightened senses meant he could identify people by smell, and some species as well. So he knew her approach before she spoke to him, he had already lowered his book so he could look at her. "Sup, chief. Need a hand with those extinguishers?" He raised an eyebrow, a friendly smile on his face. Almost on cue, he could feel his stomach growl a bit. It had been a while since he last ate, and although he had his little advice book handy, he had just about the same idea as Ivana. "Sure, I'd be fine if we ordered something. Not sure we have a lot of food lying about at the moment anyway." Liun laughed lightly.

Ivana had been setting the extinguishers on the staff work table just as Luin's stomach growled, which was, she had to admit, kinda funny given the question she had just asked him. However, being the professional she normally tried to be, she refrained as best she could from laughing.

"I do need some help checking the pressure on these containers if you don't mind," she said, "And we don't have any real food laying around unless you call a can of tuna, two overripe bananas, a half a box of rice, and some cereal, dinner?" she quipped as she grabbed a few menus they had laying around and sat down at the table with Liun.

"Pizza, Chinese or ..." here she flipped over the menu, "Hamburger fusion?" she stated in confusion as she peered at all the options, reading them one by one and becoming slightly more amused with each menu option she read.

"What the heck is a Pineapple Stacker Surprise?" she asked Liun, not sure she had ever eaten from this restaurant before.

Liun noticed her struggle to contain her laughter, so he laughed instead. “Guess I wouldn’t have been able to keep it hidden anyway.” He spoke lightly, a smirk had crept onto his face. Being sociable and humorous was how Liun treated every situation. With something to do now, he closed the book to put aside.

It wasn’t like Liun knew all the wacky food menu items, but even he thought they were funny. He couldn’t help but snicker as she read them out. “Pineapple Stacker Surprise? Chief, I have no idea what that is but all I hear is pineapple and I’m suspicious.” Liun tried his best to have a serious look to his face, but kept on sniggering. After a while he just shook his head with a chuckle.

“I think I’d be fine with a pizza. Anything with meat would be good.” Liun wasn’t fussy, never had been and several moments in his life meant he couldn’t. But he would definitely prefer if it had some meat in it, it came from his nature as a predator.

Ivana wrinkled her nose a little at the idea of pineapple in any of her food. "I'm also not a big fan of it either," she admitted, relieved to hear that Liun wasn't one of those that insisted on having pineapple on their pizza.

"Let's see, they should have a meat pizza option," Ivana murmured as she scanned the menu and saw part way down the Meat Supreme option which sounded perfect.

"Found it," she said somewhat triumphantly as she then called in the ham, pepperoni, bacon, and Italian sausage pizza along with a large side order of chicken wings.

"About thirty minutes.. if we are lucky," she informed Liun after she had hung up the phone and took a seat across from him.
