Tak felt little in this moment beyond pure satisfaction, and perhaps a hint of exhaustion. She had been stalking a young deer for the better part of an afternoon, one that for one reason or another her hunting partner had fixated on. The cat in question was dragging their shared prize along on the long trek back to the stables, a path that the two had become quite accustomed to in the few short weeks they had been here.

The goblin hunter had intended to make it back before stopping to eat, but the incessant rumbling from her stomach finally got the better of her. The issue, however, was fire, as all of the wood she'd come across was alive and wet. Growling in mild annoyance she set off in the direction of some spontaneously sprouting trees that had been cropping up in the distance while she'd been hunting, figuring that whoever was bringing all these trees to life would be able to kill them as well.

This was a bit troublesome. Leila wasn't sure if people were allowed to just cut trees down in these woods, but even if it was permitted, whoever did this also did a very poor job at cleaning after themselves. The ground was completely trampled here and stumps left well alone after the rest of the tree was cut down and carried away. Many branches just left lying about, as well as an unpleasant amount of plastic materials.

Sighting because of it all, the girl felt an urge to fix this place up a bit. Going at it for a few minutes now, she had nature itself help her out as she used her magic. Vines and smaller trees would bend around and pick up what needed to be moved while grass would slowly spring from the dirt and replace the previous, now destroyed generation of green. And to make this place even better than before, she also had a large number of beautiful flowers come to life all over.

However, her efforts did not go unnoticed. Suddenly hearing some noise coming from behind, her instincts took over as Leila turned around in combat-ready position, the trees around shaking violently as they were ready to help and protect the nature spirit who helped them grow so effortlessly. "Who goes there? If you are the ones who destroyed this place, you should be ashamed of yourselves! Show your faces!"

Though the shuddering trees gave the goblin girl pause, the shouting voice that accompanied it simply caused her to quirk a brow. Patting Valla affectionately, she strode forward further into the clearing, her giant cat still dragging along the bloody deer carcass. Tak crossed her arms, canting her head at the girl who seemed ready enough for a brawl. She didn't...look particularly dangerous, but Tak had learned by now that appearances can be more than a little deceiving here of all places.

The goblin remained silent for a few long moments as she continued to appraise Leila, eventually letting her expression go from inquisitive to neutral, one hand resting on her hip. "Tak did not do this. Valla either. We have been on a hunt." She gestured back to the deer that Valla was already impatiently taking a few chunks out of, happily munching away at the fresh meat. "What is she doing here, wiggling the forest around? Tak simply wants to find dead wood to cook."

What Leila expected was a bunch of burly men that were ready with axes in hand. What she certainly did not expect was a... goblin of a very small stature? And next to her, some form of large feline that she didn't quite recognise. This was most curious. Though the bloody carcass dragged along was a little bit unnerving to the silver haired girl. It even made her shudder a bit.

What more, this uninvited guest remained silent for awfully long time. It even started seeming a fair bit hostile. Thankfully, Leila did not have to speak up again. The other female finally answered in a language that seemed to possibility be a little bit more basic than how most people here spoke. "Hunt... is it even allowed to hunt here..? Never mind that, the creature is already dead." Sighing, Leila turned to the side.

Now a bit more calm, she walked over to few considerably older trees that were quietly swaying in the wind to the side. These trees have lived long and prosperous life. They offered much to smaller critters, from shelter to sustenance. They did their duty and wewere ready. The girl gently pressed her palm into the rough bark and turned back to the goblin girl. "You may cut down these ones then. And it's 'for cooking' rather than 'to cook' I believe." She ended up smiling sweetly.

Leila had seemed pretty defensive at first, but the goblin girl was relieved to see her put her guard down and settle a bit. She eyed the small group of old trees that she'd pointed out, giving a light, tusked smile and nodding. "Yes...good for them to serve the animals. Tak believes in things like this. Life must sustain life." She strode over towards them, stroking the gnarled bark with one hand for a moment before turning back to hiss at Valla.

The big cat had been gorging on the meat already; the pair had been out here longer than usual and she was quite hungry. Tak communicated through their bond that she needed to slow down and save some for others, to which the saber tooth yawned and finally backed off, licking her lips. Giving an amused huff, she eyed Leila and pointed to her cat with one thumb. "Valla is very greedy, you see? Not keeping others in mind. She will eat with us, hm?" Tak ran her orange eyes up and down the girl, sizing her up and rubbing her chin thoughtfully. "Or is she the type to eat...vegetables?" She shuddered a bit at that, wrinkling her nose.

The cycle of life could be a cruel one. Just looking at the dead animal dragged over was enough to confirm that. If one life wanted to continue to exist, it had to end another life. Such was the truth. It was hard to accept sometimes, but it was how it was. There was simply no use thinking about it too much. At the very least, the goblin girl seemed to be pretty happy with the fact that she would be getting her wood for cooking the meat.

At the same time, it was interesting to watch the interactions between her and the animal. They seemed much more... primal, in a way? Yes, she wouldn't mind to observe them a while longer. Although now that the older wood was presented, the maiden figured that Tak would just cut it down and leave. But instead she started speaking again, it surprised her a little bit. "She... um, you mean me?" Saying that Leila pointed at herself somewhat comically.

Her expression also changed to a less amused one when vegetables were mentioned. "They are good, you know? But no, I can eat almost anything, not just vegetables." Omnivore like all other humans. Or most of them, anyway. "Why would you share the meat with someone you don't know? I didn't hunt that animal down, you did." She was curious what the goblin's reasoning would be.
