Ebviony tried to understand where Celeste was coming from. They really did. But it felt like everything they were saying was being ignored.

"They won't get upset or worried. We'll be at my court. We'll come back when it's time to. Then they'll want to keep coming back."

"You can't just take children to your court whenever you want," Celeste said, trying to get Ebviony to realise that they couldn't do that. "A lot of these children do have families just like you do," she pointed out. "And they'd be worried if their child went missing and they couldn't find them."

"Some of them might think their child was hurt, even kidnapped, or worse, dead, if they left suddenly and nobody knew where they had gone. That's why it's better if they come here to play," she reasoned, hoping Ebviony would understand that she wasn't trying to be unhelpful, she was just trying to make them understand why they could not do such a thing.

"But... I can tell them where we are..." Ebvion felt like Celeste was making a leap to the worst possible conclusion, which frankly, just made them feel like there was no trust here. "I'll tell their mommies and daddies and they can all come and you can come too if you want." It wouldn't be as fun that way, but it was much more fun to be in their court. "Or... I can play alone. I like my court more."

Celeste could tell that Ebviony was trying to make an effort, and thus she could feel herself relenting somewhat.

"If your friends have permission from their parents, and you promise to let me know beforehand before you take them there," Celeste said as she sat down on the floor before Ebviony. "You can play in your kingdom," she explained, hoping the solution was to some degree meeting Ebviony halfway.

There was no hiding Ebviony's smile. Finally, an agreement Ebviony could get behind. It was necessary in a way, anyway. If the children worried their parents didn't approve, they may want to leave the court. It all had to be perfect for the children who wanted to play there.

If Ebviony had a little less control, they would have hopped into Celeste's arms. So far, their lack of control just left them shaking from excitement. No more hiding. No more secrets. "Y-Yes! Yes. I like that. Um... what about my babysitter. Can I tell her? I'll try to be very good so we can all have fun."

"Yes. You can tell your babysitter," Celeste told them, trying not to smile too widely at the fact that Ebviony was very obviously in agreement with her suggestion. Truthfully, Celeste was feeling quite relieved that they were good okay with her ideas. She didn't enjoy having to say no and disappointing her children. However, she did know that it was necessary at times when you were a parent.

"I will also let them know that they can just drop you off and pick you up later," she said. "And I will get you a new mobile phone just in case, okay?" she added, wanting Ebviony to be safe and always able to contact her if they needed too.

That actually brought an interesting question to mind. Interesting enough to make Ebviony ignore their worry that if Celeste buys them a good phone, they'll have to do something big for her later. "I don't know if phones work... I never called anyone. But I can look stuff up on it there! And play games. And do other stuff. I'm still learning about my court."

Things would have been much easier if their court functioned exactly as it did with their mom. Their court was likely modified because of them being of a new generation, partially eldritch, or both. Some things were the same, some things were different. It led to Ebviony fumbling around in their court like a complete fool.

"Well, I don't really know either to be honest, but at least we can try, no?" Celeste said as she looked at Ebviony. She liked the idea of the phone, and maybe if it didn't work in Ebviony's court, they could find some other way to magically make it work.

"Okay, well, how about we go downstairs, I'll make dinner, and you can tell me about your plans?" Celeste suggested as she got to her feet, glad that everything - at least for now - seemed to be smoothed over somewhat.

Ebviony nodded their head repeatedly at Celeste's suggestion. She was even willing to work with them on other things! Ebviony thought at first that the cellphone would be an issue, but really, it was better this way. They could send updates to her instead of her standing watch every time they entered her court.

The mention of dinner made Ebviony realize how hungry they were. Now fully satisfied by the discussion they had, there was no hesitation with hugging Celeste's leg and asking to be picked up. Once comfortably seated in her arms, the two went downstairs to get something to eat. All the while, Ebviony rambled on about how much power they had in their court and how they wanted Shale and Azure to be the knights who helped their majesty.
