"I can most certainly try to be around the station for the next little while," Ivana told Soosei reassuringly. "Although if there is an unexpected emergency or fire I might have to attend to that first," she explained.
She gave a relieved sigh, knowing there was a chance of Ivana being there... But in an emergency... "If there is greater urgency, then I should chase the sound of the sirens, right?", Soosei assumed, after all that would be where the fire chief would be.
Ivana did not know what to say to that. Not at first anyway. "How about for the first week or so, if there is a big emergency then you can wait til I come back. I don't want you to become scared and get hurt," Ivana told Soosei.
"After that, we can take it situation by situation." she elaborated.
"I understand. If I got too nervous I could lose it, and in an already dangerous situation it would make things much worse.", not only that, but just now Soosei regarded the possibility. Although she didn't show any fear, one needn't to say she was no fan of seeing others in danger, so she promised: "Alright, I will wait for you here when that happens then."
There was a thumping from Soosei's tail wagging against the bench. "Mmhmm, Monday, ten days. Maybe 14 days. Maybe for the first week it's better I don't work in here, should be better to take the first week to adjust to the sirens somewhat.", Soosei spoke how she felt about working in the station, knowing that the possibility of early triggers was still there.
"Mmhmm! I will do my best so that one day I can help everyone in here!", she giggled happily, and soon her eyes followed Izumi's into the sky. "It has been such a long time... Since I have left Nara... Apparently, people still worship me to the same degree as they used to. Makes me glad that without my interference things have been going nicely for them." a pleasant nostalgia was in Soosei's tone as she thought of her previous residence.
"That's great. I'm glad to hear that," Ivana stated, happy to hear that the kitsune and herself had come to an agreement, and that Soosei was actually looking forward to working with them in the future.
Looking at her watch, Ivana saw it was almost time to practice their daily fire drills. "I am sorry Soosei," Ivana said as she got to her feet. "We have our daily fire drill practice in a bit," she explained.
"It was good talking to you though, and thank you for the treats," she said flashing her a friendly smile. "I'll see you soon then?"
"Oh, alright. If you need my help with something, you don't need to ask twice.", she smiled to Ivana, getting to her feet as well, "If you have a special order of snacks and sweets, let me know in advance so I can make them for you. But for now, I wish fortune smiles upon you!", and so Soosei would soon be on her way.
