Has been how long? Hours? Days? The kid's body was still adjusting to this new residence, most of the trip here he had been sleeping and the little time he spent awake was to sketch what looked like a small manga, and now he was working on finishing it. The days he had to pretend to be human seemed gone, today he was here, wearing what looked like an alternate to shrine clothes, white with red accents, a black randoseru on his back, tail swishing as he walked towards the shadow of a tree.

Once he found a comfortable spot, he would rest on the ground, back against the tree, and the backpack by his side. From it he pulled a plastic bag with pages of the manga he had sketched, a thin brush, fist-sized ink bottle, and a water bottle for him to drink. Though clouds hid the sun, he knew not to leave the shades of a tree, as the reflection of the sun could make it harder to ink the sketches, and so he would continue, working on a small manga about a boy who went on an adventure in the sea.

The courtyard was one of Junchi's favorite places to visit. It was a popular place to come across, so he was able to talk to a lot of kids who passed by and watch them relax around there. That's why Junchi was there taking care of the flowers, making sure they had the water they needed and cutting down anything ruining the courtyard's beauty.

Along the way, he noticed a child in weird clothing. No, it looked familiar. It looked Japanese, maybe? And surrounding him were supplies Junchi guessed were for drawing. An artist, then! That immediately attracted Junchi to rush over to the boy and greet him enthusiastically.

    "Hi! What are you drawing?"

Tadashi had been feeling restless so he was wandering about. Even though he no longer lived on campus ever since he and his siblings had moved in with Rafael he still found himself making his way to the courtyard there. What could he say? It felt like familiar territory now.

It would have been nice to take his shoes off to feel the grass beneath his toes but he still had his thing about keeping his hands and feet covered. So he wandered around with his white button down shirt and grey slacks accented by his shoes and gloves of a similar grey. With white hair the only color to the boy seemed to be his bright amber eyes.

Following next to him seemed to be a very intricately detailed monochrome figure of an armored knight but with a banana for a head, seemingly drawn entirely in pencil but in the air and moving as if it were alive. After a moment Tadashi looked around and spotted the other kid tucked under a tree.

Oh, and Junchi was already over there too. He stepped over closer just in time to hear the question. Tadashi noted the clothing though and had a thought. [in Japanese:] "Hello. I don't think i've seen you around before?" And then he left it at that, trying not to crowd them too much.

He had been focused on his art, but the boy in white was still alert, and Junchi's approach was noticed as his nose soon twitched. The brush was lifted away from the paper, and his eyes went from the sketch to the... Minotaur? He wasn't sure how to refer to the Kirintaur, never seen such a creature before, not even in fiction. But of course, he had to respond: "Oh, hi. Just inking a manga I sketched on the trip here, nothing much. You?"

For a little while he maintained visual contact, before refocusing on the inking process for a moment or so, before bringing his eyes back up and right on time to witness something you REALLY don't see every day... Next to the white-haired boy was a bananahead knight, and that evoked the most puzzled stare from him until the boy addressed the young mangaka.

"Hm, hi...", shaking himself out of the brief confusion, he properly responded, "No, I arrived recently from Japan. I'm Sumi no Ookami, but humans used to call me Kuro."

The strange boy would have taken all of Junchi's attention if not for Tadashi's weird companion. "He has a banana for a head!" he said loudly, feeling the need to point out the obvious.

Then he realized he was being rude. Both by ignoring Tadashi and by being loud. Perhaps that's why Tadashi was speaking in another language? "Oh, I didn't mean to be loud! I've never seen a banana-head knight before."

First things first. Tadashi bowed towards Sumi in introduction, using the more traditional way of giving his name by giving his surname first, [Japanese] "Yoshimori Tadashi, nice to meet you." Then a wide smile crept onto his face as he turned towards Junchi. [returning to english from here on out] "Yes, I was feeling a little silly when I drew him." And then Tadashi laughed a little. It was pretty ridiculous.

"I'm from Japan too but I came here more than a year ago. Welcome." As he turned between the two other kids he made the knight do a sort of salute motion to both of them.

His way of looking at Junchi as he stated was as if Sumi himself needed that reassurance of what he saw. So, he wasn't seeing things. "Nice to meet you, Tadashi. So, wait a second: you drew him... So you can do this kind of thing too?!", the ink boy was perplexed, but amused. What did he mean with that? He decided it was better to show. Taking a gulp from his water, he quickly dipped his brush and got to his feet.

Sumi's movements with the brush were precise and quick, it was minutes though, until he finished painting a bird in their nest, but the most peculiar thing is not how well painted it was, but the fact it was hanging on the air, as if an invisible piece of paper had been there all the while. They could test it too, nothing could be there to hold it up, yet, there it was.... Kneeling down to his backpack, he brought out a blank paper, which he would soon use on the floating ink to erase it from the nothing, and imprint it to the paper.

Junchi felt he was a little out of place. The two boys seemed to understand each other in their other language and they supposedly shared something in common. Though Junchi could guess from the context that they were doing introductions. "I'm Junchi! Junchi Mei. I'm not from Japan though... or anyplace human."

All of that was changed when Sumi began to show off his own power by painting a bird in its nest on air. Junchi hopped around excitedly, trying to get different views of the painting before it was imprinted onto the paper.

"That's so cool! How did you do that! Is the brush and paper magic too?"

"I can draw like that yeah," Tadashi nodded happily as he watched the other yokai draw on the air. Appreciating the effort that went into it. It was in many ways similar to his own talent and yet different.

He clapped his gloved hands together at the display. Given his own talents Tadashi wasnt so sure it was related to the brush itself but he decided to let Sumi explain it. Tadashi did pull a pencil out from behind his ear though and drew a little mustache with a bunch of tiny legs in the air.

"Maybe Junchi and I could sit with you for a little bit?" He asked, trying to keep from making Junchi feel any more out of place.

"Ah, nice to meet you, Junchi!", his tail began to wag, as Tadashi and Junchi seemed amused with his ability, and Tadashi himself would soon demonstrate his own. Sumi giggled cutely in reaction to Tadashi's clapping, and Junchi's excitement, but the Kirintaur was off the mark on how it works. Perhaps time to explain it, right? Since the white-head one didn't, perhaps due to being unsure about Sumi's skill, or so he has assumed.

"It's actually much simpler than magic paper or brush. It's my ink."
, as he explained he brought a hand up. Were his index finger bleeding? It was a dark viscous substance, but had no smell, no taste, nor dripped. "I'm an Ink Tsukumogami. A tool spirit born out of ink. Because of that I can produce ink and control it. Somewhat.", this time he made the substance turn light blue, then white, then yellow, then magenta, then back to black, then seep back into his fingers. No, he didn't even have a cut.

With that, Sumi sat down and beckoned them to join him.
