Out at the edge of Manta Carlos’ woods, not nearly into the part marked “DANGEROUS AND FORBIDDEN”, Fenn trudged his way through the snow, his bag heavy with roots, his hands full with a “local plant identification guide”, and his wings mucking up the footprints he left behind him.

He was here to obtain new plants.

Logically, one could go buy plants at the store. But just as logically, that required money, something that Fenn was keen on Not Spending whenever he could manage.

One had to admit that the forest on Manta Carlos was mighty strange. And probably, a very good source of plants with a little magic to them. Even with all the snow, there were things greening in here, things blooming and thriving under the white fluff dusting down through the canopy. It made them like himself, he supposed. Fenn was cool enough with the cold that he’d actually gone sans puffy coat (or more accurately, absently forgotten about it until he was already all the way into the forest) today. His breath didn’t even fog up in the air.

He’s passed up someone’s cottage earlier, and taken a hard turn away from it. It’d be rude to pluck stuff straight off someone’s property… that, and he felt just the slightest bit silly about being seen without his coat. Just felt vulnerable somehow.

It was strange to walk in the snow coated woods, seeing few glimpses of green here and there. Fehr had lived her life in a climate where it rarely snowed, only on the mountains, and the forests were evergreen and rivers always ran. But here the snow came early and made the woods into a shining white wonderland. Even the straightlaced Fehr felt like getting poetic in this scenery.
Fehr had wrapped herself in a warm jacket, mittens and a wool hat as she made her way through the woods, carrying a backpack with a blanket, some organic snacks and warm tea. She was planning on making this walk a long one.

The flow of life energy was lesser but it wasn't gone. Fehr could still see it floating among the trees and on the ground, and Fehr followed it since she didn't have any other route plan for this walk. And the life energy was the thing that led her to the small...person? They had a book in their hands and a bag that looked full. Fehr didn't say anything at first, just observed the person from few metres away, before mentally shrugging and going a bit closer.
    "Good afternoon."
Fehr said from behind the person.

Fenn jolted at the voice that spoke up from behind him.

Whoever’d been walking there had been awful quiet, considering his excellent hearing. Either that, or he was being a distracted dumby again. Or maybe the snow was soft enough to muffle things? Point was, Fenn was just the slightest bit thrown off about being caught out here when he thought he was all alone.

“Eeep!” he squeaked, shooting up a couple feet above the ground by the sheer force of shock that was his fluttering wings. The fae twisted around midair to see who it was that had disturbed him. His antennae and ears drooped in indignance.

His eyes were greeted by the sight of a tall, muscular, pregnant lady, appropriately bundled up for the weather, looking at him with a docile curiosity. Soon as he was back on the ground, his wings flexed over his own coatless form. Yeah, his sweater and his pajama pants just didn’t feel like enough. Being without his coat wasn’t quite like being naked, but… still. “Oh. Hey, I recognize you. The community center, right?” he said, sheepishly putting his ruffled antennae and wispy hair back to rights. “This your land? Sorry, um. I was taking some stuff. You want me to leave..?”

Fehr blinked when she very clearly took the person by surprise, as they jumped several feet into the air from shock. And when he turned around Fehr recognized the small moth man from MC3, they had met briefly. The sleepy...fairy? Fae? Pixie? Fehr wasn't certain.
"Forgive me, it was not my intention to scare you. Yes, I believe we met briefly. I'm Fehralyn Daidel."
Fehr did have the tendency to move quietly, it was a habit and couldn't help it yet. While in war moving quietly was a requirement for survival.

"This isn't my land, I have no right to tell you to leave. I believe the woods are primarily public domain, you can move here freely. Private areas are clearly marked and easy to avoid."
Fehr answered in a quite matter-of-fact tone, and smiled ever so slightly in an attempt to reassure the small creature.
"What kind of, hm, stuff have you collected today? I assume plants?"
Fehr asked, gesturing at the book Fenn was holding
