Konpeitō fidgeted with a strand of his hair as he and Jericho sat down at a table. Kon had decided to meet with Jericho at his own business, thinking it would be less trouble for him. After they ordered their drinks, he gave an awkward smile to the fox.

"Sorry to have to pull you aside like this." Already starting off without confidence. He would've tried to act like all was okay, but this entire situation was a mess that continued to escalate. "I wanted to talk to you about my powers. They've been very glitchy lately, and I was hoping you'd be able to figure out the problem? If you're able to. I don't exactly know if, once you give someone an ability, all of it is out of your hands." Kon's entire reason for coming here rested on the idea that, like someone building a computer, if they were given the same computer later and told it was broken, they could figure out the problem by taking it apart and putting it together again.

Jericho took his seat at the table with Kon and just smiled at him. It was good to see one of his clients even if they were having some form of trouble with their powers.

"No need to apologize Kon, I am glad to be of service again." It didn't take Jericho long to notice what was wrong with Kon's powers. Jericho himself looked more surprised at what he was sensing off of Kon. This wasn't the same power he gave Kon, in fact it seemed to have gotten stronger, a lot stronger. Jericho cleared his throat before he spoke, staring at Kon curiously. "I think I already know what is wrong."

"You see power I originally gave you was more just basic shifting, but it seemed to have developed into something more." And he means a lot more. Jericho wasn't sure what Kon was actually doing but whatever it was, it was making his shifting ability evolve.

"Up until now I haven't realized it yet but, It is safe to assume all powers I give to people can actually be improved by the owners."

Jericho cleared his throat. That was never a good sign. It meant he was caught off guard, or that he was preparing a lengthy lecture... or both. Please don't let it be a lecture. Kon had dealt with enough of those already.

What Kon was given instead wasn't nearly as bad, tet the nervousness didn't leave his face. "Ah, heh, yeah..." he started off awkwardly. "I've been trying to fix a lot about myself. My appearance, my strength... Some of it was just for fun. But I made sure to deeply research every modification I made, and I am slowing down. I haven't really been doing anything recently. I need to figure all of this out first."

He took a sip of his drink, taking the time to avoid eye contact with Jericho for a couple of seconds. It was hard to not feel embarrassed about his mistakes. "Do you have any, uh, tips for me? Or even just telling me what you learned would be a big help."

"Fix a lot about yourself?" Jericho never actually questioned why Kon wanted the power because at first it seemed harmless but now...
He wasn't a therapist, not even close to one. Yeeeeet, Jericho sorta felt responsible for any problems Kon was currently having due to the problems and also Kon was technically one of his "followers" now. "That makes sense...there were somethings you weren't happy about yourself appearance wise so you sought out to get a power that allowed you to change that."

"You then realized you could do more than just fix yourself and so here we are." Was that all right? Jericho wasn't super sure, he was just going off of what he knew about Kon already....which wasn't much.

"Kon, your shifting is being affected by your mood, how you feel. I assume it's because you haven't fully gotten things under control and so whatever emotion pops into your head visibly shows by shifting your body to reflect that emotion."

Kon noticeably flinched. Without realizing it, he became a few inches shorter and the colors of his body had a grey tint to them. He hit the nail right on the head.

"I've noticed that. Colors changing, my teeth becoming sharper, my nails turning into claws... All I wanted to do was become a boy, save some money by not using hair dye, and not have to deal with all the problems NEK0s have. Oh, and, uh... live for a long time. Sort of why I asked for such a specific-but-vague power. To let me modify myself when needed."

There was no point in Kon hiding his intentions. He would have to be an idiot to think lying about the "why" and the "how" of his shifting would make it easier for Jericho to address his problem. So he swallowed his pride and just said what was true. Oversharing sounded better than undersharing right now.

"And don't get me wrong. I'm really grateful for the power. Even with the weird shifting, it's made my life so much better. I feel like a new and better person. Just... yeah, thought I should explain things in more detail."

"I see..." Well it was clear that Jericho was right about Kon's mood affecting his abilities shifting. What he had explained so far and what Jericho had witnessed seemed pretty much in line with what he had said.
"Well it is good that you feel better, I am glad to have helped you with that."

Anyway it didn't seem like Kon didn't want to have the powers completely removed just yet. Now it was only the matter on how to fix it."So Kon, do you want me to fix it or do you want to do it yourself?"

A genuine smile rose on Kon's face when Jericho said he was happy to have helped. Someday, he would figure out a way to truly show his thankfulness.

"I'd prefer learning how to fix it myself so I don't need to keep coming to you for every problem... but if you think it'd be better for you to fix it, I won't reject it. I'm sure you know more about this stuff than me." He ended his sentence with an awkward laugh. "I'd just like more control. Know what I can do and what I shouldn't do. I've been testing my limits and... well, here I am. In this mess."

Jericho tapped a finger on his chin as he considered the current situation and Kon's problems. The safest and easiest thing to do was to just fix it himself but then Kon wouldn't be fixing a fixable problem himself. "Here is an idea, how about you try fixing it on your own first and if things start getting worse then I will fix it."

"So tips, Your shifting is currently not fully under your control which means you should take into consideration of what you are shifting and...."
Jericho stared at Kon a bit, almost like he lost his train of thought for a second. "Oh! Whatever you mimic, it seems your mental state is also affected. You aren't just physically changing your appearance anymore Kon. You are changing your entire being from Mental state to what makes you, you."

Kon's heart drop. Wait, no. If he thought that, would his heart actually do that? The fact that he was thinking such a thing proved it wasn't the case. Despite that, he still felt unwell.

"Wha... Sorry, I don't think I understand? So I'm... So I'm losing my personal identity whenever I shape-shift?" That explained a lot. The growling. The hissing. The loud purring. He was made to be catlike, but now it was like his cat side was becoming exaggerated.

Kon let out an airy laugh. "Yeah, I'll try fixing it on my own... Ahh... This is a mess. At least I haven't mimicked anything weird. Just cats and, uh... I tried a zombie, but all it was was me trying to look like one. For fun. I didn't actually become. one. Not even sure how I would."

"Um..." Jericho did not want to just say yes to Kon's question. There was probably a better way to explain it but it seems like his mind was just not allowing him to go into as much detail as he wanted. "Yes? Though I feel it is only temporarily. My only concern right now is if you were to shift into a form that will damage or body or if you got stuck in a form. That is when you should call me immediatly."

See a zombie doesn't sound like a safe thing to shift into. Did not sound safe at all. "My advise for now is to try to stick to shapeshifting into one form at a time. Get a feeling of it and a complete understanding so if a problem appears then you will know which form caused it. When you feel like you have full control over one form, move onto controlling the next one."
